DISASTER RECOVERY CONTROL CENTRE EXPANSION
Whilst with HBO+EMTB, Abe Garrity was the Project Architect for the Disaster Recovery Control Centre Expansion. The project entailed the expansion of the essential Disaster Recovery Control Centre, housed within the heritage building premises on Gertrude Street. The control centre is a mirror of the main operational centre and control premises which oversee the management of all fleet operations.
The control centre was expanded within the building to double the operational control centre space. The unique constraints to the project were the heritage nature of the premises, the archaeological sensitivity of the in-ground conditions, and the overall need to physically expand the technologically intensive control centre – all the while maintaining all operations and not impacting on the rail services delivery.
This Project was completed by Abe Garrity whilst at HBO+EMTB
